Clip Lead Set
Ten electrical leads with an alligator clip on each end. Each lead is about 20" long, not counting the 'gators. Vinyl coated 20-22 ga. wire with a vinyl cover over each clip. They come in an assortment of five colors with two leads in each color. The manufacturer calls them heavy duty but we would restrict them to the light currents and low voltages you will be using in your home experiments. Our each is a set of (10).

Tootin' Our Laser
We don't like to brag, but it's tough not to in a case like this. This is a wonderful pen-shaped laser pointer, 5-1/4" long, flat black or silver with gold pocket clip and head. It throws a red point a loong way (we've thrown it two city blocks at night, and it would've gone farther, but buildings got in the way). And what are we so proud of? We've seen a very similar item-not identical, mind you, but essentially the same-in one of those glossy, toys-for-grown-men catalogs. Their price? $40! We're proud not to be profit-mongers, buy it here and you can take pride in your smart shopping habits. Batteries included. (Please note color change to include silver.)

A Little Lightning
Despite parental advice, here's a good reason to sit in in a dark room and think small. This Plasma Storm isn't as large as a standard plasma ball, so not only is it much more affordable -- the effect is concentrated and startling. The black plastic base has a switch. Turn it on at which point the 3" dia plastic globe (think baseball size) is filled with blue stems that flare to pink, looking like dozens of electric flowers searching for a way out. Very cool. Comes with a 6-ft power cord with transformer.

Be a walking LED message board. Those nametags with just your name are soooo 20th century. Our LED Moving Name Tag is 4" across x 1-5/8" high in plastic, with a 3-1/2" long x approx 3/4" high red LED screen that scrolls up to six messages. You can adjust the scrolling speed and program (1) message of 512 characters, and (5) of 256 characters. Runs on two lithium batteries (included, along with a spare set) and sticks tight to your lapel or pocket with a pin.

The Ultra (Violet) Pocket Light
Our pocket-sized mini-flashlight has (8) ultraviolet LEDs and myriad uses, from checking for counterfeit U.S. currency to working the door at hip downtown clubs, spotting radiator and transmission fluid leaks, mineral identification, and (yes, it's true) finding scorpions in the dark. Measures 3-7/8" long x 1-1/8" hexagon, and comes with (3) "AAA" batteries for power and a canvas carrying case with a belt loop. You supply the scorpions.

Major League Laser
We've never been more serious about saying "This is not a toy." Our 10mW green laser pointer (532nm wavelength) with a 7-3/4" long x 7/8" dia black-steel case is powered by (2) included "AA" batteries. Comes with a master (and an extra) key switch, a dongle safety switch, and a carrying/storage case of dense black foam. Must be turned on in a specific sequence, and has a 2-second delay. Range is 20,000 feet in darkness. Class IIIB. These sell elsewhere for up to $178.

Tiny Table Lamp
On tiny tables or the desktop, this lamp throws a nice puddle of light for its size. The 4-1/4" x 3" x 1-1/2" tall base supports an 8" long gooseneck with (14) bright white LEDs at the top. Silver-plastic and chrome, with a pushbutton switch on the base, it comes with (3) "AAA" batteries. We're putting ours on top of the dresser so maybe we'll finally be able to tell what color socks we're taking out of the top drawer, but it would make a nice little reading or camping lamp. Should give 15 hours of light with fresh batteries.

DIY Traffic Light
People running around your house or office willy-nilly? Barging in where they aren’t welcome? You may need to build your own traffic light from our genuine take-out red, yellow (really amber), and green traffic signals. They’re all 12” dia with internal LEDs. Some are approx 5-3/4” deep, and some approx 3-1/2” deep with a slight downward bevel on the lens cover. They all draw between 6W and 22W at 120VAC, they all have about 3-foot leads and watertight casings, and they’re all bright enough to frighten large mammals. Nice for drivers’ ed programs, or keeping people out of the refrigerator, too. Better not put off ordering these lights, boys and girls. We know we’re gonna run right through them.

You're Feeling Calm...
Very calm. You're sensing inner peace and seeing the comforting, soft lights at the very core of consciousness. It's on account of you've got the Color Cube, dude. It's a soft white cube, 2-7/8" on a side with internal LEDs that morph from purple to pink, light green and blue every (5) seconds or so. Its (3) button-cell batteries are included, but this would still be a good time to order extra batteries, especially if you intend to sense inner peace for a long, long time.

Black-Light Magic Pen
