Light It Up
With the emphasis on UP. Our battery-operated display base is 3-3/4" dia x 1-7/8" tall, with a black rubber and plastic outer surface and a top surface that's a mirror with (4) colored LEDs in the center. Turn it on and the LEDs sequence through a random pattern and light up your award, cocktail, crystal sculpture, or anything else you put on it. The circumference has a lightly patterned, tire-like rubber ring, which is removable. Why the bargain? That "batteries included" should read "dead batteries included." You'll need to add (3) "AAA"s.

Magic Floating Light Balls
For your unmet festive yard needs. This 4-5/8" dia clear-plastic sphere contains a non-replaceable but rechargeable NiCad battery, a 2" square solar panel to keep it charged up, and a rubber-coated power switch. It comes with a constant white LED or a flashing multi-color LED inside it. It's maintenance-free, turning off and on as the ambient light waxes and wanes. You could toss a bunch into the pool for some floating cocktail-party elegance, but it does have a small mount on the top if you want to hang it from a tree. You ask us, we'd file off the mount and play night bocce ball.

The egg shape is soothing, the smooth surface is frosted, and the egg slooowly changes from pale yellow to pale green to pale pink to pale blue.... The open end of the 8-1/2" x 6-1/4" dia glass egg rests in a brushed aluminum base that houses a 10 watt halogen bulb and a motorized color wheel. It's 12-1/2" tall OA. It's a standard keychain laser pointer, 2-1/2" long, 1/2" dia. But it comes with (5) different screw-on heads, allowing you to project everything from the useful (a single point) to the frivolous (a flying saucer, mudflap girl, two fingers up, dbl candy cane). Inner Peace Egg
We're very fond of this mesmerizing ovoid. It's a translucent-white, soft-rubber egg with LEDs inside, 3-5/8" tall x 2-3/4" dia at its egg waist, as it were. Turn it on and it morphs slowly through a series of attractive pastel colors. No Easter basket would be complete without one. Placed on a desk or nightstand, we think it can produce lasting inner peace. Which is hard to find these days. The 3-5/8" wide triangular silver-colored charging stand has an indicator and a wall adapter, and will power it when it's on the base, or charge its internal NiMH battery (over 8-10 hours) for 500 cycles (about 6 hours) of stand-alone morphing. Mighty nice, Paul says, now that he's found his inner peace.

It's a tabletop or 4-foot-tall-tripod-mounted, insane revolving fiber-optic lamp that throws (11) different patterns of red, blue and green light through the spray of optical fibers atop its black steel saucer while it emits (6) different sound patterns via either sound-activated or you-activated switches. Moving Sky-Show Extraordinaire
This staggeringly vivid night-sky projector features green, laser-beamed moving stars and cloud cover and, according to Paul (our in-house astro-galactic display maven), "adjustable-intensity nebula." If that means you can lie supine and happily stare at it for a few hours, we agree, particularly if you cue up the Dark Side of the Moon album at the same time. Or skip the Pink Floyd, and use it to lull the children to sleep. Not an astronomically accurate sky, of course, but you're definitely not going to care. The unit is approx 11" tall on a 9-1/2" x 8-3/8" oval base and plugs in via a wall adapter. The manufacturer suggests a maximum 4-hour duty cycle, white or light walls and a very dark room. Has mounting slots on the base.

Tired of wimpy little lightbulbs? Our bigger bulb is an 8-1/2" tall lightbulb-shaped light fixture over a replaceable 6V Krypton flashlight bulb. The base, with its socket, is 4-1/4" dia in silver plastic with (3) mounting holes. Uses (4) "AA" batteries, not included, and you turn it on by pulling the string or pushing the big bulb. Will also stand upright as a lamp, and would make a nice mad-inventor/bright-idea costume addition.
