What is it? Or, rather, what are they? A pair of battery holders with tiny encapsulated grain-of-wheat bulbs, a secondary wire goes to what we think is a switch of some sort that would attach to a part of someone's uniform. One holder has a metal housing for 2 "D" cell batteries, the other has 2 separate gasketed "D" Cell holders with pushbutton toggle switches on each of them, bound together by a leather strap. Weird.
