Our favorite laser-cut wooden model in recent memory is this (200)-piece Steampunk Submarine. As usual, it’s from UGears®. You know the drill—no glue needed. Measures approx 5-1/2” long x 5” wide x 3-1/2” tall when assembled (scaled at 1:48), and it’ll roll about 8 feet straight or with turns under power of the wind-up, rubber-band motor, which has a start/stop switch. Gear system actuates moving propellers, too. Takes about 3 hours to build, with a difficulty rating of “easy.” Ages 14+.
