MAKE A MOUNTAIN OUT OF A MITE

When it comes to scientific gear, newer isn’t always better. For example, this Galen III Binocular Microscope by Cambridge Instruments is built so solidly you could probably use it as a carjack to change your oil when you’re done in the lab. Don’t try that with a modern plastic microscope from Toys-We-Were. If you’re looking for microscope that would make a lab-tech jealous, look no further.

Jarvis says: This is a used microscope and sold as such. We have checked the unit and found that the optics are in good condition. There are small paint scratches, the mechanical stage controls are a little loose but still work and the focus knobs are a little stiff, but that’s probably just the old internal grease that hasn’t moved in years. These personality quirks are easily addressed by a microscope cleaning/tune-up. Besides the original price on these new is about $2,000.00
